From the supplier: A case study is presented of an upscale golf resort in Scotland. Dalmahoy estate belonged to Earl of Morton. It consisted of two golf courses, fine farmland and a 1725 Georgian mansion. The Earl was concerned of keeping his farm in top condition and he at first made lodging provisions for overnight guests in the 1970s. Country Club Hotels ultimately acquired Dalmahoy and they added substantial improvements and operated the estate as a country and golf club. However, despite its good location, fine amenities and competitive prices, the resort still suffered losses.
