Amazon.com Review The book that started the phenomenon is now available in a deluxe collector's edition! Featuring a ribbon bookmark, cloth cover, ragged edges, new chapter opener designs, and a beautiful protective slipcase, this edition is perfect for fans and collectors alike.
Bella Swan's move to Forks, a small, perpetually rainy town in Washington, could have been the most boring move she ever made. But once she meets the mysterious and alluring Edward Cullen, Bella's life takes a thrilling and terrifying turn. Up until now, Edward has managed to keep his vampire identity a secret in the small community he lives in, but now nobody is safe, especially Bella, the person Edward holds most dear.
Deeply romantic and extraordinarily suspenseful, Twilight captures the struggle between defying our instincts and satisfying our desires. This is a love story with bite.
Product Description About three things I was absolutely positive: First, Edward was a vampire. Second, there was a part of him–and I didn’t know how dominant that part might be–that thirsted for my blood. And third, I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him.
“I’D NEVER GIVEN MUCH THOUGHT TO HOW I WOULD DIE– I’d had reason enough in the last few months –but even if I had, I would not have imagined it like this. . . . Surely it was a good way to die, in the place of something else, someone I loved. Noble, even. That ought to count for something.” When Isabella Swan moves to the gloomy town of Forks and meets the mysterious, alluring Edward Cullen, her life takes a thrilling and terrifying turn. With his porcelain skin, golden eyes, mesmerizing voice, and supernatural gifts, Edward is both irresistible and impenetrable. Up until now, he has managed to keep his true identity hidden, but Bella is determined to uncover his dark secret. What Bella doesn’t realize is the closer she gets to him, the more she is putting herself and those around her at risk. And, it might be too late to turn back. . . . Deeply seductive and extraordinarily suspenseful, Twilight will have readers riveted right until the very last page is turned.

love twight 4ever December 3, 2008 best book i have read in all my life.reading num. 2 and im hooked ... PEACE
absolutely amazing!! December 3, 2008 This is a book you will not be able to put down. When you finish reading, it will leave you thinking about nothing else. I am not a teenager and I am not a vampire book lover, but this swept me off of my feet. You will not be disappointed.
Absolutely Addictive December 3, 2008 I am in my 30s, so when my teenage cousins prattled on and on and on about the Twilight books, I paid little attention. Well, after hearing from ten other people in their 30s that I must read Meyer's books, I caved. And I'm glad I did. The books in the Twilight Saga are some of the most addictive books I've ever read.
Twilight is a very endearing novel. It is definitely geared towards teen girls. The writing is relatively simplistic, which is to be expected for a book like this - especially one narrated by a 17 year old. It tells a touching story, and Meyer puts some unique, innovative twists on a genre that many might say is overdone.
Meyer's greatest talent is her ability to keep the reader riveted, wanting to read on and on. Like the Harry Potter books, it doesn't matter that the prose isn't perfect - it's just a compelling story that has a momentum that just keeps chugging on, so it's hard to find a place you feel comfortable stopping. If you're anything like I was when reading these books, you'll want to clear your schedule for a few days. My house got very messy and there was no food in the fridge, but I couldn't put these books down long enough to rectify either of those situations. Definitely give these books a chance.
O come all ye deceivers December 2, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Stephenie Meyer has more hits in the top ten than the Beatles and Stones combined, only in books. Her writings are hotter than brimstone. As in, fire and brimstone. Her topics make light of the works of evil in whom the soul of Satan is well pleased. Satan loves to tempt all men. He even tempted Christ with all the glory of the kingdoms of this world. Christ knew who he served. Thou shalt worshipped the Lord thy God and him only shalt thou serve. Be not deceived, God is not mocked. He will bring all these things into judgment. Be wise and follow the Son of God who conquered death and the grave and rose from the dead. He shall come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom shall have no end.
I am hooked! December 2, 2008 I picked up this book on a whim because the last great vampire novel I had bought was "Interview with the Vampire" about 15 years ago. I am so glad I did!
I agree this book could have been better, and there are some ridiculous vampire "facts" that I had to laugh at. I mean, the hero does not need to have fangs or explode into a pile of dust in sunlight, but I think to sparkle was a bit of a reach. There are just some core "facts" that vampire novel fanatics have to agree are musts.
With that being said, Edward is a fascinating character. I absolutely loved his devotion to Bella, I think he is very well written and believable as a vampire with a soul as it is. Bella on the other hand, absolutely drove me NUTS throughout this book. Her character could have been so much better had she not come off as being so "whiny" or "needy" - a trait which stays with her throughout the series. However she is the heroine and in the end won my affections.
The story itself was fantastic, romance and suspense with just enough of the supernatural to give it that twist I love about these novels. I absolutely could not put the book down, neglecting dishes and dinners to curl up with the Cullens and forgetting at times they were not real. The characters are written so well, that it is so easy to get lost in their world. I read through all 700+ pages in only three days (quite a feat for a busy mom of three boys) and then literally rushed off to Borders for "New Moon" the minute the last page was turned.
All in all, I still cannot get enough of Twilight. I did see the movie and will recommend that you see that first before reading the book. I've read reviews that state the movie will satisfy fans but leave those who are unaware confused, but I disagree. I think that had I not read the book first I would have enjoyed the movie better because the story lines are fantastic, but of course changed a bit for the film. Although I did enjoy the movie, it disappointed me as a fan that the story did not follow the book better.
