Review of The Outlaw Josey Wales DVD April 13, 2008
I love this movie! And, I understand now why Clint Eastwood says in one of the interviews available on the DVD, states that this is his favorite of the films he has made and starred in. There is deep, heart-wrenching sorrow in the movie right from the onset and later the terrible, even cruel events in the movie are contrasted with great joy and thankfulness. There is also droll humor throughout the movie which makes this movie come even more alive on the screen. I am drawn right into the scenery and the goings on and for me this is a mark of a movie that has no flaws. I recommend that anyone who wants to kick back and watch a great movie, and come away with the sense of having not only been very well entertained but having learned much about the way it was shortly after the Civil War to watch this particular movie. The viewer is impacted by many emotions threading throughout the movie and one thing is for certain...you will want to watch it again and again!!!
