4 out of 5 stars An Impressive Periodical Now   September 22, 2004

ARTFORUM is a big, heavy magazine on the Arts and appears to be now more sensitive to criticisms of the past - many readers felt it was just too esoteric and not pertinent. But things have changed, and while the color reproduction has always been very good, the present magazine is 'state of the art' as far as color separations are concerned. The quality of writing has improved in the last year or two: articles of International happenings and trends in the visual arts are now eloquently written and pertinent. One reason to include a subscription to this magazine among other periodicals on the visual arts is the very sophisticated advertising. A full-page full color ad in Artforum truly makes a statement! Most of the magazine is devoted to advertisements of shows current in the Americas, Europe, and Asia and for that alone it is worth its price just to have such fine visual documentation of current events in the art world.
