5 out of 5 stars All in one super system   December 1, 2008
I have had my PS3 since it first came out and love it. The PS3 gets constant updates for the firmware automatically via the internet and always works with the latest blu ray movies. Mine still works from the day I bought it with no problems!!!

You can surf the net, watch dvds, blu-rays, and play PS3 games with this thing, all for under $400. This is a steal. The PS3 has one of the best audio out puts out there for a Blu Ray player.

Alot of special bundle deals on Amazon.com right now that make this even more affordable. Don't pass up on the PS3 this holiday, there are too many great games, and too many great Blu ray movies coming out that you need to view on your HD TV!!! Once you do Blu, you don't go back!!!!

5 out of 5 stars Sony's "Greatest Thing Ever"   November 30, 2008

I probably shouldn't have written this review because I won't tell you anything that you can't read below but I just received my system a few days ago and I am so excited I feel, like Ron Burgundy, like shouting my love from a mountain-top.

I was never big on video games (exceptions: Grand Theft Auto; Bioshock; Handful of others) and I can't tell you how this system compares to other video game consoles (although I think all will agree that the games on this system look the best by far). All I can tell you is that GTA and CoD and every other game I've played on this system looks great and is tremendous fun. The blu-rays look amazing, the blu-ray's upward conversion makes your old dvds look fantastic and if you upgrade to 320 or 500 (as I did) GB, it's basically a fully functioning computer as well (web browsing could be more user-friendly, but playing movies, music, and storing photos are mostly what people are going to use this thing for).

So... computer, blu-ray player, cd player, video game console for $400 (+ your upgrades, I probably spent another $100 with $80 going to the hard drive upgrade). It's basically the greatest thing ever made (along with the iPod and Kindle). Just add TV.

One word of advice: Make sure you buy the 5400 rpm hard drives when you upgrade (and you'll likely want to).

5 out of 5 stars PS3   November 29, 2008
Great machine! Runs like a charm, and the Playstation network is simple to use. The Blu-Ray player is perhaps he best video I have ever seen... so crisp and clear.

5 out of 5 stars Great Gaming System   November 28, 2008

I have owned my PS3 for about a month and just love it. I use it for both Blu-Ray movies as well as gaming and in both aspects it performs flawlessly. Setting up the unit and making little tweaks and settings took a little time, but nothing out of the ordinary. My only complaint is the lack of PS2 compatability because I have a lot of PS2 games, but oh well, I still have my PS2 player and it works just fine. I would like to see the prices of games come down a little, same with Blu-Ray movies, but I guess the more people purchase these units prices will hopefully come down. Overall-Very satisfied with this unit!

5 out of 5 stars GREATEST SYSTEM IN THE WORLD!   November 27, 2008

I normally don't write a lot of reviews about products, but I must right about this one. I love the 80 GB Playstation 3. It's 1000 times better than Xbox 360. When I first took out the system from the box I was amazed at how light the system was when I lifted it. I was amazed at how beautiful and sexy the system looks from the outside. The system was so easy to set up. Just connect the HDMI cable and power cable and turn it on. Amazon gave me a free game and a free HDMI cable with the PS3 purchase. It was a one day deal only on Amazon. The system is almost silent when you turn it on. It is more silent than the Playstation 2. The controllers are great. Only one complaint about them is when I press the L2 and R2 buttons my fingers slip off. It's not that big of a deal because most of the games I play I don't need to press the L2 and R2 buttons. The graphics are jaw dropping. The online game play is amazing. The built-in Wi-Fi feature is so convenient. Only thing I hate about this 80 GB system is that IT DOES NOT PLAY PS2 GAMES. There are some rumors that Sony will bring a software update to download that will allow PS2 backwards compatibility to this 80 GB system, but that is just a rumor. PS3 makes regular DVD movies look great.

DO NOT HESITATE to buy this system unless you are planning on playing PS2 games on it because you can't play them. If you choosing to buy an Xbox 360 over this system because it is cheaper; think again. Xbox 360 sounds like a vacuum cleaner and lacks blue-ray play back and Wi-Fi capabilities.
