GOOD GAME November 10, 2008 My 9 year old loves this game! He received it for his birthday and plays it all the time. It was easy to control and play.
Good series, disappointing Wii version August 21, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Usually, these games are easy to play, easy to have fun with, and even easier to get into. However, this game falls a bit short with the Wii.
First off, just letting you know that the controls are awkward. VERY awkward. I only tried it with the Remote and Nunchuck, and I was still having a hard time. I was afraid to try the game with my Wheel.
Then the online system itself is messed up. I wish I knew before hand that it was basically impossible to join a stranger's match. Then again, the whole friend code thing is a sham to begin with.
So basically, a mediocre game with mediocre online support. I only recommend this title if you're that much of a fan of these games.
Overly touchy to controller response May 30, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
The concept of this game seemed cool, but my boyfriend and I both tried it, although he did better then my, we both felt that the games response to the controller was too touchy, it made game play totally unenjoyable for me, the slightest little move on my nunchuck and the bikes were all over, I basically had to let go of the gas to even get around turns well, and even then it was still next to impossible. Although we have not had our Wii long, this is the first game I have played and just REALLY been unhappy with it, this game underplays what great ground breaking Nintendo has done with the wireless remote and virtual play.
AWFUL MUSIC,,,,CAN TURN IT OFF BUT May 22, 2008 0 out of 3 found this review helpful
IF YOU LIKE HARD ROCK, THEN I GUESS YOU MIGHT BE ABLE TO TOLERATE THE GAME AND BECOME PROFICIENT. I AM A BABY BOOMER AND COULD NOT GET PAST THE AWFUL YELLING NOISE THAT THEY USE FOR BACKGROUND MUSIC. HAD TO GIVE IT TO MY 36 YEAR OLD SON-IN-LAW. HAVE YET TO GET HIS REACTION.
The online play makes the game April 29, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I'm actually pretty impressed with the graphics of this game. Of course I've never owned a PS or spent hours zoned out on the tv in my moms basement. I have a 46" 1080p lcd television and it looks pretty damn good. The game itself does take some time to get used to, especially the very poorly designed menu system. Here are a few tips: if your not going to clear a jump mound nose down and ram into it, you will slow down, but you wont fall off. If your struggling with the backflip: you have to hold the two buttons on the nunchuck and push forward on the nunchuck joystick and then when your about half way up the jump let go of the buttons and pull down on the nunchuck joystick. I couldn't figure it out for a while because you have to pull back much sooner that i thought. So if your like me, and don't have any friends that are interested in playing this with you then the online play is killer. you may have to wait while it searches for a game to join for up to 5min, but you will eventually get somebody to play. Sometimes i get spanked by what my wife thinks is 8yr old girls, but sometimes i get someone at my level and then it is super fun. Without the online play these type of games would get boring, but playing random people everytime you sign on is very cool. Buy the game and have some fun!
