5 out of 5 stars Simply Awesome!   June 11, 2008
This collection of games is truly magnificient. Every game looks wonderful and faithfully perfected from the arcade! Great collection of brawlers, platformers, shooters, and puzzles.

Many games are obvious rip offs from final fight, ghost and goblins, etc... Capcom games. However Taito does a good job making new flavors.

Overall a MUST BUY TREASURE for all classic gamers and people who like good games! One of the BEST game for PS2!!

5 out of 5 stars Insert Coin   May 28, 2008
When gauging the authenticity of a collection of classic arcade games, every little detail counts. Many other collections have chosen to eliminate the "insert coin" graphics that is so familiar for all arcade dwellers. Given everything else being done right, that last touch makes the experience complete.

Taito's LEGENDS 2 is one of my top favorite arcade collections. Unlike SNK's fighter-heavy compilation, Taito's is loaded with classic Shoot-em-ups. From Darius Gaiden to Ray Storm to G Darius. Even a couple of Space Invader updates - Space Invaders DX and Space Invaders 95.

Taito's second collection is also the most diversified when it comes to featuring games from many different eras. The earliest game, Lunar Rescue, is from 1979. The most recent game, G Darius, which features 3-D graphics, is from 1997. Legends 2 also features a huge assortment of games, 39 in all.

Aside from the shooters, there is also plenty of platform and puzzle games. The graphics and game-play are all arcade-perfect. One of my personal favorites, a game that was never released for any U.S. consoles, is Elevator Action 2(1994).

Plenty of games, a nice variety, arcade-perfect, and Taito. Be sure to pick up Legends 2, a collection that will put you right back into the old-school arcade action.

4 out of 5 stars Classic Fun!   January 10, 2008
Do you like classic arcade games?
If so then I advise that you buy this right now.
Even more games than the first Taito Legends and just as equally fun!
This is a great value for so many classic games.
The only downside is the presentation of the games compared to the first collection but that does not hurt the games themselves.
So if you want some old school fun without the history lesson, then I highly recommend this!
There are some great classic gems here including the awsome shooters, Darius Alpha and Darius Gaiden!

5 out of 5 stars Excellent Old School Side Scroll Action!   December 26, 2007

I bought this for the two Darius titles. Both alone make this collection worth the price. However there are about a dozen other side scrolling shooter games in this collections that are worth a look too.

5 out of 5 stars Best compilation of games for PS2   December 5, 2007

This title is amazing, and an amazing value. It has five puzzle games, some old school ultra-hard simple vintage games, great side scrolling shooters, adventure games, and some fun weird stuff you've never heard of. (Try getting better than 'very fine' in Balloon Bomber if you want difficult times.)

It is better than the Namco Museum 50th Anniversary because you are allowed to continue after game over. It may be tough, but you can put in another coin.

It is better than Sega Classics Collection, Intellivision Lives, and the Atari Anthology because it has a few old schools games. This means you won't put the collection away when you get tired of retro.

It is better than Taito Legends, because there are MORE games, and higher quality (read -- later than 1990) games.

It is better than the Midway Arcade Treasures (both volumes) because the games are fateful reproductions with good, responsive controls.

It is equal to Sega Genesis Collection because Arabian Magic and Dungeon Magic are better than Golden Axe (and you can play them with your girlfriend). The rest of the games not being duds make up for the lack of anything similar to Phantasy Star II, III, and IV (because frankly, they should have named it the Phantasy Star Collection; the other stuff is bad).

If I had only one compilation of games for the Playstation 2 I was allowed to buy, then this would be it.
