5 out of 5 stars A Nearly Perfect Follow-up   July 14, 2008

There were some big shoes to fill when creating a sequel to the best side scroller on the PS1, and they pulled it off. this game does everything right, and only has one realy flaw. some parts of the game feel like a real chore. when you first arrive at the mining village, you will be doing miniscule tasks and errands (pushing around a wheel-barrel full of coal for one) for a while, this happens in another town as well. while there were central hub areas in the original, and you would receive quests there, you didnt have to do boring jobs in town while you were there.

other than that, its just as much fun as the original classic, even the switch to blocky 3-d environments holds up in this day and age, as the areas are just as unique and inviting this time around. the game plays just like Tomba, you'll be slaying evil pigs, climbing around, and picking up side quests for hours. im not sure of the exact number of quests this time around, but its somewhere around 150.

with the loads of areas, enemies and quests you'll be busy for hours. you pick up new weapons and abilities almost constantly, so its pretty much impossible to get sick of this series. its a classic. its one of the best platformers on PS1, and if you enjoy 2d platformers at all, check out this little gem now, before it gets even more expensive.

5 out of 5 stars whaaaaaaaattttttt!!!!!!   November 6, 2007
This is possibly the sequal to the greatest game ever!
(If you've never played Tomba(the first one)) game play is unique and lots of fun. combines classic side scrolling action with clues and puzzles that you must figure out to make your way through the world of Tomba. highly recomended but also get Tomba (the first one) Great game!

5 out of 5 stars TOMBA 2 BEST EVER!   December 5, 2005

I love tomba 2 never played the first one though, but this is my second favorite game ever! the story is a little of but overall this is a great game it's adventure mostly. you fight evil pigs and throw them into pig bags. and help people with side missions you can even shrink and go into squirrel holes!

PROS
you get a wide variety of weapons clothes and items
you fight evil pigs thats always a plus
when you kill an evil pig you get a suit of magic
you find tresure chests that give you things

CONS
not the best plot

but overall I say buy the game seriously it's worth it.

4 out of 5 stars Deserves more attention   August 6, 2005
I haven't yet had a chance to play the original tomba but after picking up a copy of Tomba 2 recently i have to say i'm pretty impressed - i wasn't expecting it to look so good and to have such solid enjoyable gameplay.

You play as a young boy raised in the jungle and you must navigate often difficult terrain (think running, jumping, climbing, swinging and gliding) to reach your objective/solve puzzles, while the whole time avoiding evil pigs and other enemys along the way.

I found the initial learning curve to be pretty quick however more then a few of the objectives are fairly difficult so i wouldn't recommend the game for young children or the easily frusterated. (you're going to need to save often to be successful)

Do yourself a favor and check it out if you are looking for a good, solid and challenging platformer.

5 out of 5 stars Awesome adventure game   April 27, 2004
This is the best adventure/action game ever. I love it. I was so sad when I beat it because I didn't want to start all over. Everyone who loves adventure and action should get Tomba 2. I don't have Tomba, the first one, but I want to get it soon. Tomba is the coolest character of all time. Tomba 2 is my most favorite game in the world. I even like it better than all the PS2 games. Even if it is a PSone game, it beats all of the playstation 2 games. Once I beat Tomba, I will write a review for that one too. So why don't you go see it sometime. TOMBA 2 IS GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
