Amazon.com Product Description Lightweight and quick-lacing, this hiking boot from Lafuma keeps you cool and comfortable on the trail. Breathable mesh, leather and textile uppers have a sporty look and a cool bungee closure lacing system lets you tighten and take off in a flash. Your ankle is fully supported by a padded collar, and extra toe protection prevents stubbing on rocks and unexpected tree roots. The flexible rubber sole offers reliable traction that doesn't weigh you down like bulky hiking boots.

Great fit, good support. January 6, 2009 I love the shoes, but I may take out the stretchy lace setup and replace with real laces. They are drawstring type laces and then they tuck under a flap, but don't always stay there. The "drawing" directions were less than helpful. Other than that, they have firm support for my tired old feet and fit like a glove. I ordered 7.5 (when I usually wear a 7) because I tend to need extra width, and they fit perfect. Very comfortable, all day, hiking shoes. I live in Hawaii and walk across dry lava beds from time to time, and these have the ventilation I need as well.
Lafuma - wonderful discovery! November 21, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I discovered the Lafuma brand in Forks, WA. My busy self forgot to update my too-small trail shoes before visiting Yosemite. My sneakers just did not cut it. A week later in Forks, WA, waiting for my kayak tour, I discovered these shoes in the Peak 6 Adventure store. The twin lacing system is a godsend: it lets you adjust the toe box independently of the rest of the lacing. So my narrow feet can have a snug lace around the foot, while my toes have plenty of room to spread.
The support is great, too, especially for my arches, which tire quickly. The shoe is stiff, but not unbendable. It pads and cups my ankle, providing more support than a sneaker, but less than a full-fledged hiking boot. And it's waterproof. It's my go-to shoe now for everything from long days on my feet in the city or rain on the way to work to rigorous day-long hikes outdoors. I'm online now trying to find a second pair before Lafuma changes their line. (I inevitably look to replace an item just after it's been discontinued or "updated" in some way that I dislike.)
Good job, Lafuma! You'll be on my radar for a long time.
