3 out of 5 stars Tiger Woods 07   September 28, 2007
The game is great fun if you enjoy golf. However if you have Tiger Woods 06, 05, 04 ...etc; there's not much new to the game. The graphics are a bit improved, and a small new feature here or there.
If you haven't bought a recent version of this game then I highly recommend it. But if you have 06, or 05 I wouldn't run out to buy 07.

5 out of 5 stars An awesome game!!   July 18, 2007
I love this game!! My husband has this game for his xBox 360 and he is a big fan of golf and he plays golf as well in real life (not just the video game version). Before I played this game, I was not too much of a fan of golf and I had never played golf in real life and did not know too much at all about the game but this video game is so much fun that it is really addictive!! I learned a lot about the game and while this video game is challenging, is is not too difficult to spoil the fun. I've only been playing for a week and I can already come in first place in at least one round of the tournaments. The graphics on this game are quite impressive as well.

4 out of 5 stars Fun, but frustrating   July 6, 2007
It has a pretty steep learning curve compared to 06, and the computer version. If you're looking for an arcade Golf, then buy it for one of the Consoles. But if you want a more realistic golf experience, then buy it for the computer.

The reason I say that, is because you can "Power Up" mid swing, and control the spin of your ball in mid flight (unless you get a cut scene). Where as in the computer version, you have to choose a swing that allows more spin, then position your club correctly to get the direction you want it to spin.

Good game, but putting is frustrating.

2 out of 5 stars Great Game, flawed discs   June 17, 2007
This a great game with many great improvements, but only if you get a disc that is not flawed.

This is true of my disc and if you search forums on the internet you will find the same thing happening to many others. During certain, and repeateble times in the game, the game stops and you get "Disc may be dirty or damaged" error. I experience this when trying to load my 3rd Tiger Challenge and during season mode. Also, when playing St. Andrew's, when Hole #2 is trying to load, I get a black screen and am not even able to access my dashboard or shutdown the console via the controller. My disc is completely free of scratches or anyother cosmetic damages.

Neither Microsoft nor EA will replace the discs, each laying blame with the other. Many think the blame should go to EA for using discs that arent good quality.

So buyer beware, great game but flawed hardware.

1 out of 5 stars More of the same - and less...   June 1, 2007

DISLIKES:
The graphics on the 360 version are poor in my opinion for the following reasons: Although the golf courses look great on an HD TVs (or high res. monitors) they look pretty jittered on a standard TV. And there is ABOSLUTELY NO REASON for the courses to be shown at a low frame rate when the camera shows the upcoming hole. This is just poor and CHEAP game development from EA. The players and the (oh so much raved about) audience look boring (advanced 2nd gen video consoles at best but far from 360 standard). The overall game appearance was pretty disappointing after playing other 360 games.
Dave Feherty and Gary McCord give the same commentary recordings they gave in the 06 and 05 versions. Again - cheap develpment from EA by recycling the same things over and over again. Thank goodness we can mute the announcers.
Why did they not include the option to SAVE PROGRESS during a round??? That is just anoying. Not all of us have time to play through all 18 holes all the time.

LIKES:
I agree with any positive review out there about the gameplay which is indeed nice and much more challenging than it was in the 06 edition.

Summary:
A cheaply done game that leaves the impression that EA stopped a while ago investing money in their newest edition sport titles but using them as cash cows. The 360 version is heavily overpriced. Fifty percent of the current retail price are the absolute maximum for this produckt.
I enjoyed the 06 edition on the GameCube much more than the 07 version for the 360 - maybe that had to do with the fact that it cost me significantly less than the 360 version.

I am hoping to see some competitors golf game for the Xbox out there in the future. I doubt it - but this is the last EA title I ever bought.
